    BHUD: on the topic of squats, does is make sense to do leg presses (on an incline machine) as an accessory? I like to do a few at the end of the lower body day. (I'm alternating upper and lower body days, BTW.)

    just start with empty barbell. Smith is death for shoulders on BP

  5. Goblet squats are indeed an excellent tool. I use them for warm-ups. They can also easily be used for conditioning (cardio health) if you use high reps. The main issue with them is weight limitation, due to front loading and dumbbells/kettlebells not heavy enough, or, if they are heavy enough, perhaps they are unwieldy to keep up. So it's the back squat for progressive overload to best train the legs.
